Job Description- Construction Assistant Superintendent
Avila Construction is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Superintendent to join our team in Yuma, Arizona. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your attention to detail and construction expertise on a 100,000-square-foot, eight-building agricultural housing complex.

In this role, you will play a critical part in overseeing interior finishes, managing punch list items, and driving the final stages of construction. This opportunity is available immediately for the right candidate ready to contribute to a dynamic, growing team.
Job requirements:
Proven experience as an Assistant Construction Superintendent, particularly in multifamily/ subdivision/ or large-scale housing projects.
Strong leadership and organizational skills, with a focus on safety and quality.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. A high level of professionalism is required in all interactions - coworkers, subcontractors, Owners, Inspectors, and others.
Ability to record, organize and prioritize tasks of various complexities and follow through to completion of task.
Ability to plan ahead to ensure project is on schedule.
Must be solution oriented and can collaborate with other team members to problem solve.
Assistant Superintendent will be more successful if they are computer (Windows) proficient including software: Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Teams, Project and Outlook; PDF editor (such as Bluebeam); Management software (such as Fieldwire or ProCore).
Must be able to: create and send emails; create, save, edit files and organize them into server/ local folders; digitally markup/ annotate various project documents and incorporate them into RFIs, emails, etc.; create/ schedule meetings, including e- meetings; facilitate online meetings (Teams);
Must be physically capable of visiting all areas of the jobsite, which may require climbing stairs, ladders, or scaffolds. This job requires the ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch, or carry objects in excess of 30 pounds.

Skills Required and Job Responsibilities:
Create a running list of all tasks needing to be completed; prioritize tasks to ensure job can continue to run forward on time. Update task list with statuses and completions.
Regularly communicates with the three other Superintendent team onsite regarding status of project - schedule, potential problems/ obstacles, ongoing site activities, etc.
Regularly inspects work for quality and to ensure schedule is met. Makes recommendations for modifications or improvements to work as necessary.
Address and resolve on-site challenges to maintain project momentum and minimize delays.
Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
Always maintain a clean and safe job site.
Other duties assigned to ensure project success.

Education/License & Experience requirements:
Driver's License is Required
Ability to take/ pass a background check.
2 + years experience as an Assistant Superintendent, 5+ years construction experience
Compensation depends on experience and skills.

Pay: Depending on skills and experience, range from $30.00 to $40.00 an hour
