Job Title: Hood Exhaust Cleaning & Fire Alarm Helper Technician 50/50 duties
Experience: Experienced in cleaning hoods and fire alarm or willing to be trained
Pay Range: $15 to $25 per hour DOE
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to diligently perform or be trained on kitchen hood systems cleaning as required by NPFA 96.
Entails performing kitchen exhaust cleaning for commercial customers with cooking facilities.
The process includes grease removal from hood systems to ensure fire safety and cleanliness.
Removing soiled filters for deep cleaning and replacing filters once cleaned.
Hood cleaning includes thorough cleaning of hoods, filters, ducts, and fans.
Hood cleaning is performed quarterly according to the establishment’s scheduled cycle and the schedule is structured around each customer’s business operations.
Ability to pull low voltage wiring or be trained in such.
Ability to perform fire alarm systems service and inspections or be trained in such.
Must be willing to learn any other areas of company responsibilities.
Must be able to demonstrate the following:
Thoroughly understand or be willing to learn code driven requirements, procedures & techniques, equipment, and tools.
Complete detailed inspection reports, service tickets, and any required documents timely.
Have the ability and willingness to learn what’s needed and be able to work in a team environment.
Take instruction and perform work as assigned at specific locations on scheduled dates and times.
Punctual and Reliable.
Communicate with customers in a professional manner.
Follow company procedures to accomplish tasks at hand to ensure all work is being performed safely and professionally, and completed to company standards.
Work closely with all levels of employees and management.
Report and escalate any issues to management.
Additional responsibilities and projects as assigned by management.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Kitchen hood exhaust cleaning or fire alarm laborer experience preferred but we are willing to provide professional training and education to the right individual.
Must be willing to take additional training like OSHA 30, NFPA system inspections, etc.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service to all internal/external customers.
Excellent computer/iPad proficiency using Word, PDF, Excel, Outlook Email.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Ability to study and train and obtain a CSA or NICET certification.
Physical and Additional Requirements:
REQUIRES the flexibility to work both day and/or night shifts and OT as needed to support the business.
Requires occasional out of town and overnight travel.
Ability to pass a federal background check and maintain good status.
Must have and maintain a clean driving record and have reliable transportation.
Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling.
Ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high lift equipment, working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions.
Must be able to adhere to all company safety standards.
Maintain compliance with mission statement and policies and procedures.
