Basic Job Functions:The Caster Operator responsibilities include, but are not limited to, taking care of our customers by executing the divisions safety, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability objectives. The Caster Operators main task is to safely operate and maintain the 4 Strand Continuous Caster. Duties also include working in and around liquid steel, opening and closing strands, operating jib crane/mobile equipment, safely assist the torch pulpit in cutting billets to length and insuring billet quality standards are achieved, as well as assisting in basic maintenance of equipment . The Caster Operator will work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime and vacation coverage as needed [[custsafetyState]]Minimum Requirements:Six or more months of melting and/or casting operational or maintenance related experience Detailed Selection Criteria:Initiative - Proactively seeking out work that needs to be done and being willing to take on responsibilities and challenges.
