50-year-old quadriplegic seeking permanent live-in home care, medical training preferred, but not required. The living situation includes a separate bedroom and bathroom in a gated community in South Rogers.
The position includes room & board and pays between $450-$650 per week depending on qualifications and experience. I work full time during the week from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, so the position is morning and evenings during the week, and all day on the weekends (unless I have plans with family or friends in the evenings and/or weekends). The primary duties are summarized below:
Morning duties from 5 - 7:30 AM include, but are not limited to:
Assistance with basic hygiene (brushing teeth, etc.)
Hoyer lift transfer between bed and chair
Range of motion
Bowel program every three days
Leg bag and catheter assistance
Evening duties include, but are not limited to:
Assistance with basic hygiene (brushing teeth, etc.)
Hoyer lift transfer between bed and chair
Cleaning
Cooking and feeding
Grocery shopping
Leg bag and catheter assistance
Weekend duties not covered above include, but are not limited to:
Assistance getting on electronic stimulation bike
Driving wheelchair accessible van to local shops, restaurants, etc.
Showering
Cooking and feeding
Seeking reliable candidates who can perform the duties above while keeping a positive attitude. A sense of humor and tendency to laugh is a big plus. Willingness to travel occasionally is a must.
