Job Summary:
Follow step-by-step guidelines from basic blueprints, diagrams, work instructions and/or prints in performing assemblies. Use basic tools like screwdrivers, clamps, razor-blades, wrenches, pliers, soldering-irons, tweezers, and wire-crimpers. The employee is expected to report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor in a timely manner, and personally maintain a safe work area at all times. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a competitive production environment, will have a background in good soldering practices, is good at working in teams for a combined goal, and will have pride in their work.
Responsibilities:
Build and terminate wiring harnesses to a high quality and repetitious manor
Perform a variety of fabrication processes to include but not limited to wire marking, soldering, crimping, connector termination and assembly
Explain assembly procedures or techniques to co-workers
Work and take direction from team leader for project completion
Confer with supervisors regarding any anticipated production problems
Ensure work meets quality standards set by Word Machinery, Inc.
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to follow instructions
Ability to maintain a safe work environment for self and others
Able to use hand tools with accuracy at a fast pace
Carry out repetitive tasks quickly and methodically
Must be able to read and write in English
Ability to work independently
2 years of electrical or mechanical manufacturing experience (or automotive maintenance)
Considered Beneficial:
Knowledge of standard wire types/sizes
Greater than 2 years full-time work experience in electrical assembly
Experience with quality control and solder joint inspection
Knowledge of wire harness production tools, such as pneumatic wire cutting/crimping tools
Previous stock room and inventory experience
Other Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
Must be eligible for hire in the United States of America
