Ball Metalpack in Springdale, AR, is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our team. Ball Metalpack is a Lean Manufacturing System environment
Electrical Technicians at our facility are responsible for the following:
1) Complies with established job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for safe performance of the workassignment.
2) Supports and follows the guidelines of the food safety system.
3) Installs and maintains high-speed, industrial process equipment for can and/or end
4) making: power, lighting, control, and logic circuits for all production process and
5) support equipment.
6) Installs all electrical segments in such equipment as gas mixers, burners, de-ionized
7) water units, air compressors, plant air circulation systems, cooling and heating units,
8) ultra sonic cleaners, waxers, and plant lighting.
9) Troubleshoots, adjusts, and repairs all electrical equipment, solid state circuits,
10) circuit boards, components, logic boards, transducers, amplifiers, and complex
11) timing and inspection devices.
12) Performs preventative maintenance on
13) assigned electrical systems and equipment.
14) Identifies inefficiencies and potential electrical problems and coordinates through
15) supervisor to resolve.
16) Programs logic controls for proper equipment operation.
17) Accesses, inputs, and retrieves information from the computer.
18) Determines all supplies and tools needed for each assignment.
19) May assist in the design, experimentation, and/or installation of all new plant
20) equipment or electrical production procedures.
21) Performs clean-up, painting, and housekeeping duties.
22) Initiates, reviews, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of
23) responsibility.
24) Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the
25) division, the group, and the company. Includes ability to handle stress and to
26) interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive and productive work
27) environment and minimize personal conflicts.
28) Required to work assigned schedule or 8-hour shifts, days or nights, Monday
29) through Friday, working hours may vary as specified by management. Incumbent
30) must be able to work overtime on a regular basis and/or be on call as directed by
31) management.
32) Regular and predictable attendance is required between the assigned start and end
33) times of work.
34) Performs duties without posing a direct threat to anyone or to property. Direct
35) threat is defined as a significant risk of
36) substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or
37) reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.
38) Communication. Ability to communicate effectively, write effectively, read,
39) comprehend, and follow complicated verbal and written instructions.
40) Assures and maintains safe and healthful working conditions while enforcing safety
41) rules and regulations.
42) Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
43) Ability to meet the knowledge, skills, abilities, physical requirements
44) Must have flexible availabilty to include working any shift that supports our continuous operation (8 hour or 12 hour.)

Requirements:
Working knowledge of the following areas: all assigned equipment, solid state
circuitry, electronics, electrical-mechanical devices, transmission systems, interface
units, AC/DC motors, wiring diagrams and schematics, Signode strapper, video jet, Allen Bradley PLC's, computers, and inspection and digital devices. Knowledge of hazardous material handling, working in confined spaces and other safety practices, and basic
knowledge of national electrical code (NEC).
Thorough understanding of the operating principles of all assigned equipment, i.e.,
electrical test equipment, hand tools, etc. and the ability to use logic to troubleshoot
equipment.
Required on-the-job and classroom training.
Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
Ability to use electronic test equipment.
Possesses an interest in and an aptitude for mechanics, electronics, and electrical.
Ability to effectively instruct and train other employees.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Ability to operate and functionally use a computer.
Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.
Must have strong interpersonal skills.
