Job Overview:

We are seeking 2 skilled and versatile residential craftsmen who can do a variety of trades in the residential construction arena. These residential craftsman positions are 1099 sub-contract positions. The ideal candidates will be responsible for performing a variety of residential construction tasks - carpentry, painting, drywall, finishing, etc. Majority of the tasks will be residential remodel and sometimes mixed with new construction.

Responsibilities:

1. Carpentry Work: (Execute general carpentry work, including but not limited to framing, installing doors and windows, cabinetry, and moldings installed to code).

2. Installation: (flooring, cabinets, counter tops, sinks/faucets and other building materials).

3. Drywall: (hang, finish and texture drywall to code)

3. Painting: (Must have professional painting experience both interior exterior. Hand tools, pressure washer & airless paint sprayer required)

4. Finishing: (Be able to perform precise finish carpentry and interior trim work).

5. Exterior: (Roof Repair, Fascia/Soffit, Gutter, Exterior wood repair, caulking, deck installation & Repair)

5. Safety and Compliance: (Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing all tasks).

6. Communication: (Maintain clear communication with the construction superintendent and other team members- excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to listen and follow all instructions by superintendent)

7. Time Management:

-Prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.

-Efficiently utilize time and resources to complete projects within budget constraints.

- Complete all tasks as assigned by the superintendent on time.

Qualifications:

1. Experience:

- verifiable experience in residential construction & remodel.

- Demonstrated skills in carpentry and other general construction trades.

- Must perform well in fast paced work environment.

2. Knowledge:

- Strong understanding of construction and building systems.

- Adherence to local building codes and regulations.

3. Problem-Solving Skills:

-Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions without heavy supervision or input.

-Ability to interact professionally with clients and all team members.

- Physical Fitness: (Capable of performing physically demanding construction tasks and lifting heavy objects)

- Reliability: (Must be dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic).

- Certifications: (Relevant certifications in carpentry or a related field are a plus).

- OSHA 30

Truck & Tools Required: As a sub-contractor you are expected to have a reliable truck (trailer a plus) and all tools for each trade above.

What you’ll get in return:

Competitive sub-contractor hourly compensation. Paid every Friday (1099 Position-No Taxes Withheld, Per Job Basis)

Most jobs are in the Elkins, Fayetteville and Huntsville area.

Sub-contractors must be authorized to work in the U.S. and pass a drug screen and background check.

1. Withholding: Client will not withhold on behalf of sub-contractor any sums for Federal Income Tax purposes, state or local tax, unemployment insurance, social security, Medicare fees, or any other withholding pursuant to any law or requirement of any governmental body relating to Contractor. All of such taxes, payments, and withholdings, if any, shall be the sole responsibility of sub-contractor. Sub-contractor shall indemnify and hold Client harmless from any and all loss or liability arising with respect to such payments, withholdings, and benefits.

2. No Employee Benefits: As an independent sub-contractor, sub-contractor shall not be entitled to any right or benefit afforded to employees, including (i) disability or unemployment insurance, (ii) worker’s compensation, (iii) health or medical benefits, (iv) paid time off, paid vacation, paid sick leave or any other paid absences, (v) any other employment benefit, and (vi) payment of employment taxes. Sub-contractor shall be responsible for their own works compensation or exemption certificate.
