The Art Teacher will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive visual arts curriculum to students in grades 7-12. This role fosters creativity, critical thinking, and an appreciation for the arts while aligning instruction with Arkansas state standards and KIPP Delta's educational philosophy.Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum and InstructionDevelop and implement engaging lessons and community projects that meet the Arkansas K-12 Fine Arts frameworks.Instruct students in various art forms, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media.Integrate art history and cultural studies to provide context and depth to art instruction.Utilize formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.Classroom ManagementEstablish and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote student engagement and discipline.Collaboration and Professional DevelopmentCollaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary approaches to art education.Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in art education.Engage with parents and the school community to showcase student artwork and promote the arts program.Other Responsibilities (As Needed)Supporting student recruitment, enrollment, and retention activities.Write letters of recommendation for students.Additional tasks as requested to support student achievement, school culture, and team collaboration.
