OverviewAs a Special Procdure Tech, you will provide health care services applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs radiologic procedures, angiographic, interventional procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner.To be successful in this role, you’ll need to fully understand the importance of diagnostic imaging. We have earned top patient safety ratings from Leapfrog and was recently named as one of the Nation’s 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals in Fortune and PINC AI.If you are committed to social justice, health equity, and prepared to deliver care in new, innovative ways, you belong with us.ResponsibilitiesObtains pertinent medical history from patient by observation or with oral communication.Performs patient assessment.Recognizes changes in patients during course of exam from initial assessment.Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics.Documents pertinent medical history from patient on radiology request form.Capable of using EHR.Uses immobilizing devices as required by the patient’s age, condition or the procedure as determined by patient assessment.Performs appropriate patient care conditions essential for completion of the procedure for patients of all ages.Performs radiologic procedures on patients of all ages properly, according to the Radiology Procedure Manual standard of obtaining diagnostic images.Performs Diagnostic Angiographic/Therapeutic Interventional procedures on patients of all ages properly, according to the Angiographic/Interventional procedure manual standard.Safely transports wheelchair, stretcher and ambulatory patients as needed.Documents technical factors on all procedures immediately upon completion of the procedure.QualificationsRegistry eligible or Registered Radiographic Technologist certified in Radiography. Must be ARRT certified within one (1) year of hire date.Preferred registry eligible or registered in Cardiovascular Interventional Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).Licensure for the State of Arkansas.Education: Graduate of a program of Radiologic Technology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or a graduate of a military program accredited by JRCERT. Preferred: registered, certified or licensed in multimodalities such as CT, NM, PET, MRI, US or routine radiography.Experience: Prefer one (1) year experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
