GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITIONTo assist physician(s) in providing quality professional and knowledgeable medical care.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Order contact lenses for patients and new patient education as well as handle all calls regarding contact lenses.
Assist patients with frame choice/fit, glasses repairs/adjustments, glasses/miscellaneous equipment sales.
Manage contact lens inventory and monitor lab supplies.
Scribe for optometrist.
Verify insurance, correct Rx on glasses, and call patients when glasses are ready to be picked up.
Glasses repairs.
Tint lenses and maintain a clean lab.
Coordinate contact lens reps.
Assist with monthly optical shop inventory and file paperwork as needed.
Bring patients to exam room, write down patient comments, and take patient history.
Schedule surgeries as needed.
Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 2 years related experience and/or training.
