SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY - Job Summary (general statement of purpose or objective of position)
Responsible for verifying eligibility and benefits with insurance companies for inpatient and outpatient services. Pre-admit patients with complete and accurate demographic and insurance information. Assures proper pre-authorization/authorization has been obtained for inpatient and outpatient services. Inform patients of insurance benefits, including co-payments, deductibles, and prior balances. Performs functions with a high level of productivity.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Knowledge, skills, abilities, license, registration, certification, education, and experience
High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of related experience (claim filing, processing, or pre-certification) or Associates or Bachelors degree; customer service and computer skills required.
