This role will be responsible for system administration of statewide shared services solutions that provide self-service data management and analytics to over 17K state and school district employees across the state and support education, public safety, workforce development, and other key functions. Position InformationClass Code: D121CGrade: IT06FLSA Status: EXEMPTSalary Range: $57,755.00 - $83,745.00SummaryThe Business Intelligence Specialist is responsible for providing general support in the data integration related activities throughout the organization. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency / institution policy.FunctionsPerforms the data modeling design process, according to customized specifications and reporting requirements. Implements and supports innovative system applications and enhancements for existing system applications. Develops and maintains programs using software development tools in an assortment of programming environments. Ensures that the use of business intelligence applications enhances decision making capabilities. Supports users in the implementation and day-to-day use of administrative systems database applications, including user training and workflow recommendations. Provides technical support to supplementary programming team members. Ensures thorough documentation for assigned applications. Performs other duties as assigned.DimensionsNoneKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of advanced data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling. Ability to troubleshoot, and eventually solve, complex problems and then translate the ascertained solutions into their applications and systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities.Minimum QualificationsThe formal education equivalent of a bachelors degree in information technology, computer science, computer systems engineering, or a related area; plus two years of experience in designing and / or implementing data warehouse and relational database applications.
