The quality control inspector performs visual inspections of inbound purchased parts, raw material, in-process assemblies, final inspection, and product conformity, at predetermined inspection areas throughout the facility.Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.

Accurately inspects and documents results of visual testing.

Identifies, communicates, and records defects

Verifies repairs and re-work have been completed and meet quality standards

Reviews in-process documentation for accuracy and completion

Monitors area of responsibility for parts identification, measuring and test gauge control, and correct lot information for in-process assemblies

Works with outside inspectors as needed

QualificationsThe following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.Minimum Qualifications

VT Level 2 Certification

Ability to keep accurate records in a fast-paced environment

Ability to accurately complete and document visual inspection

Ability to follow written procedures

Ability to work under minimal supervisionAbility to communicate clearly and effectively

Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft OutlookAbility to obtain NDT Certification within first year of employment

Ability to work at heights up to 20 feet

Ability to work in confined spaces

Preferred Qualifications

1+ years' of railcar manufacturing experience

1+ years' experience in quality assurance, welding, or coatings

Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SmartSheet
