Job Purpose:Assists the Repair Department with production and warranty repairs.  Inspects for defects in gelcoat surfaces and performs repairs as needed.Job Details:This position requires EXPERIENCE in gelcoat repair to qualify for an interview.This is a first shift position, and the hours are from 7:00 am to e:30 pmPassing a respirator fit test, wearing a respirator, and being clean shaven are REQUIREDAll positions are safety sensitive. A safety sensitive position is any position designated in writing by an employer, in which a person performing the position while under the influence of marijuana may constitute a threat to health or safety.Qualified candidates will be asked to submit to drug testing AND a respirator evaluation test.Duties and Responsibilities: Set-up and operate tools, such as: buffers, spray guns, and grinders.Assist Repair and Warranty to ensure on-time scheduled repairs.Inspects completed fiberglass boat bodies, hulls, and parts for defects and blemishes.Repair top caps and boat hulls by forming fiberglass by sanding, buffing, and spraying.Diagnose, isolate malfunctions, and repair all malfunctions found.Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using various tools as needed.Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.Calculate dimensions of workpieces, products, or equipment.Inspect metal, plastic, or composite products.Fit and assemble parts to make repairs.Inspect metal, plastic, or composite products.File, grind, shim, and adjust various parts to properly fit them together.Smooth metal surfaces or edges.Select production input materials.Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools, using scrapers, abrasive stones, files, emery cloths, or power grinders.Polish materials, workpieces, or finished products.Measure, mark, and scribe metal or plastic stock to lay out machining, using instruments such as protractors, micrometers, scribes, and rulers.Measure materials to mark reference points, cutting lines, or other indicators.Drill holes in parts, equipment, or materials.Fit and assemble standard parts into assemblies or mechanisms, using hand tools. Verify dimension and alignment, using measuring instruments.Must be able to read work orders and see that all repairs are completed.Perform other duties, assignments and responsibilities as needed.
