Description Small Business located in North Little Rock, Arkansas, dedicated to providing high-quality products/services to our local community. Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Small Business Bookkeeper to join our team and contribute to the efficient financial management of our operations.Job Responsibilities:Financial Recordkeeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
Process and categorize invoices, receipts, and other financial transactions in accordance with established procedures.
Monitor and ensure timely payment of bills and invoices to vendors and suppliers.
Payroll Processing:
Prepare and process payroll for employees, ensuring accurate calculation of hours, wages, deductions, and tax withholdings.
Stay updated on payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements to ensure accurate reporting and remittance.
Financial Reporting:
Generate regular financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the company's financial health.
Provide actionable financial insights to assist management in making informed business decisions.
Tax Compliance:
Prepare and file sales tax returns, ensuring compliance with local and state regulations.
Collaborate with external accountants or tax professionals during tax preparation and audit processes.
Expense Tracking and Budgeting:
Monitor and track expenses against budgeted amounts, identifying any discrepancies and opportunities for cost savings.
Assist in the development and management of budgets to support effective financial planning.
Administrative Support:
Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as data entry, filing, and maintaining organized financial records.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or related roles.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office suite.
Familiarity with payroll processing and payroll tax regulations.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a small team.
Understanding of local and state tax regulations applicable to small businesses.
