This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.FunctionsOversees and trains a small staff of inmates in operating the prison commissary including cleaning, unloading supplies, and stocking shelves. Maintains inventory control records, orders supplies, checks invoices, prices merchandise, and dispenses commodities to prisoners and prison personnel. Records money order receipts and purchases to inmates' ledger cards and balances accounts daily. Maintains manual and/or computerized records of cash and card purchases. Balances cash drawer daily, makes bank deposits, and compiles daily transaction records. Provides inmates with merchandise availability lists. Inventories stock of commissary monthly.
