Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in West Memphis, Arkansas. This role is crucial in maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. Your work will involve making postings to our accounts and keeping up-to-date records of all transactions. Responsibilities: Ensure the integrity of accounting information by verifying and consolidating transactions. Assist in closing the books at the end of the month, ensuring all financial data is correct. Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls, and recommend improvements. Analyze financial information and summarize it into financial status and reports. Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements. Handle asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Document financial transactions and ensure the accuracy of entries. Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns. Provide necessary documentation for external auditors. Monitor open purchase orders and ensure prompt processing of payments. Perform various other accounting departmental tasks and assist with special projects as needed. Requirements Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Demonstrated experience with Bank Reconciliations Expertise in managing General Ledger Ability to prepare and review Journal Entries Familiarity with Month End Close procedures Proficiency in using financial software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred Prior experience in a similar role is desirable.
