Shipping/Receiving/Parts Workers verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment. Spanish bi-lingual preferred. Duties include:

Essential Functions:

Assembling, addressing, stamping and/or shipping merchandise or material.

Receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material.

Arranging for the transportation of products.

Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.

Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages or discrepancies for recordkeeping purposes.

Confer or correspond with supervisor and/or establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.

Pack, seal, label or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping.

Deliver or route materials to departments using handtruck, conveyor, or sorting bins. Drivers will be subject to enrollment in Non-DOT Drug & Alcohol program.

Receive and count stock items and record data manually or by computer.

Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves or storage yards in an orderly and accessible manner.

Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment and storage areas in order to assure compliance with safety regulations.

Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects.

Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom or storage yard workers.

Other Duties:

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs & uses.

Knowledge of computers and standard software such as Microsoft Office.

Ability To:

Use a number of tools such as: wrenches, files, hammers, power drills, screw drivers, pry bars, shears, wire brushes, stapler, scales, computers and others as required.

Organize large and small inventory.

Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.

Communicate effectively in English.

Knowledge of principles for providing customer service including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Communicate with supervisors, peers or subordinates, providing information by telephone, written form and/or in person.

Typical Physical Activities:

Must wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, welding mask, protective glasses, gloves and/or hearing protection.

Work in a manufacturing environment, lift and move objects up to 75 pounds, using lift assistance when appropriate.

Stands for extended periods of time.

Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate or assemble very small objects. Considerable use of arms, legs and moving whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.

Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions.

Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with body, arms and/or legs.

Hearing and vision within normal ranges with or without correction. Ability to see details at close range.

Environmental Factors:

Sun Exposure: 30% or less work time spent outside a building and exposed to the sun.

Irregular or extended work hours: Occasionally required to change working hours or work overtime.

Shipping/Receiving/Parts Workers may be trained on the job or have previous assembly experience.

Shipping/Receiving/Parts Lead must have at least 2-5 years experience in a manufacturing capacity.

High school diploma or GED
