The Transportation Dispatcher is responsible for ensuring that all routes at all depots depart on-time and stay on track.
Duties:
Oversees daily routes to ensure customer deliveries are on-time and proactively troubleshoots route challenges as they arise.
Responsible for post-trip metric performance.
Monitors driver/route completion times and post-trip times to ensure company protocols are followed and departmental KPIs are met, provides re-instruction/retraining as needed.
Builds professional relationships with drivers and communicates positive messages.
Maintains a positive and professional message when troubleshooting challenges.
Maintains the highest level of support for driver ideas/input/feedback in all aspects of PPF performance and up-streams information to the rest of the Ops and Transportation team.
Monitors the routes throughout each shift to ensure they stay on track and provides updates to Sales and Transportation management as needed.
Forecasts, solves, and communicates, potential customer impact and or driver hours-of-service issues as they develop.
Fields and troubleshoots all calls into Dispatch efficiently and professionally.
Provides drivers with hands-on assistance when necessary.
Efficiently and accurately manages all aspects of 3PL activity: customer communication, pick-up, routing, order entry, billing, etc.
Routes Line Haul activity and provides manifests to drivers.
Schedules and routes vendor returns.
Maintains an accurate and up to date routing database in both ERP and RTS.
Finalizes the daily truck schedule and Roadnet properties and produces accurate EOD routing session.
Reviews previous routing sessions for opportunities to drive out miles/hours and proposes routing changes to management.
Provides timely responses and answers to emails/calls/requests.
Contributes to the overall improvement in the Culture by displaying a positive attitude with a special focus on improving driver morale.
Follows Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
Will contribute to the overall success and continued evolution of ProPacific Fresh by creatively adding value to the organization whether indicated within these job duties or not. Will partake in tasks assigned that are outside the scope of this job description, but within the capabilities of the employee.
Schedule:M-F 8:00 am or 9:00 am start time with an 8+ hour shift (40+ hours per week). There will be weekend coverage required to cover other Dispatcher time-off.
