ASP.NET Developer (Remote, supporting NASA)

We are looking for an ASP.Net developer to primarily support software development efforts in the Dryden Aeronautical Test Range (DATR), while assisting in the maintenance and operations of other web applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for development, support and sustainment of the Business Information Tracking System (BITS) application and the DATR Configuration Control Board (CCB) application. The BITS application is a custom software solution developed in ASP.net Web Forms and C# used for range asset scheduling, risk tracking, financial roadmaps, financial tracking, scorecard metrics, Multi-Use Area tracking, activity tracking, training and range asset certification tracking.

This role remotely supports NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center on Edwards Air Force Base, CA. As a part of this team, you will be required to work a 9/80 schedule with typical hours of 7:30am-5:00pm Pacific time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Software Development and long-term Software Sustainment Support for the BITS application
  • Gather customer requirements and formal system level requirements in order to design new functionality for the existing BITS and DATR CCB applications
  • Recommend and implement authorized technical approaches for data management and integration solutions
  • Support and maintain existing functionality of the BITS and DATR CCB applications, to include writing and maintaining stored procedures for MS SQL Server
  • Support and maintain existing Microsoft Azure DevOps environment
  • Support and maintain existing Flight Test Safety Database ASP.NET MVC application

Requirements
  • Requires Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent years of experience
  • 2 - 4 years of related software development experience (minimum 2 years software development) using ASP.Net and/or C#
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to deliver project milestones and meet project deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate and work with a diverse team of researchers and information technology professionals


Desired Skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps, Git, or similar development collaboration/repository services
  • Experience with SSL certificate management for web applications
  • Experience with Smart Card/CAC/PIV Single-Sign-On authentication for web applications
  • Experience with CI/CD Pipelines
  • Experience with React, .NET Core, and Javascript development

Physical Requirements

Mobility to work in a typical office setting, use standard office equipment including a computer and keyboard; vision to read printed materials, correspondence and a computer screen.
