The Cultivation Manager is responsible for the overall success of the entire cultivation operation which currently sits at 70,000sq ft of flower and 18,000sq ft of nursery cultivation. This position reports to the Director of Operations and occasionally to the Executive team. The position is in charge of overseeing the Nursery Manager and Flower Cultivation Manager. In the nursery the two fundamental objectives are to plant propagation and breeding. The fundamental objective for the Flower Cultivation Manager is to grow the best cannabis flower in the 70,000 sq ft of space. The Cultivation Director is responsible for the most efficient cultivation systems possible and is there to strategize and support the managers for successful harvests. Prior experience of licensed cultivation sites required. Breeding and organic fertilizer experience recommended.

Reporting

Attending Monday meetings with Nursery Manager and Flower Cultivation Manager

Attending Monday meetings with Director of Operations

Responsible for all metrc reporting

Present weekly task and and labor needs for farms to Director of Ops

Ensuring internal and state reports are filled out by employees such as nutrient mixing logs and IPM spray logs.

Daily Tasks

Working daily with nursery manager and cultivation manager on status of open jobs.

Being hands on with crews for days that a nursery manager or cultivation manager are off or not present

Visit respective cultivation sites before 10 am in order to make adjustments in workflow if necessary.

Delegate tasks to cultivation manager and Nursery manager and follow up with them to make sure items are accomplished.

Focus time on workflow efficiency on large tasks such as pruning, trellising and other pertinent tasks.

Send progress report to Director of Operations at the end of each week.

Establish and maintain SOPs with staff

Adhere to an approved budget

Managing Employees

Providing lead by example training to nursery manager and cultivation manager.

Communicating problems or issues within the schedules or on the labor team as they occur.

Communicating the importance of attention to detail on tasks. If it isn't done right, it will be redone.

Monitor in person or by delegation, all workers productivity and work activities. Review and assure that timecards reflect actual work hours for all staff.

Nursery

Implament breeding program with current genetics

Maintain IPM schedule

Plan and schedule all propagation to meet the needs of all farms

Find efficiencies

Flower Cultivation

Plan and schedule IPM

Plan and schedule organic fert program

Flower all "trial" genetics in flower sites and test during the process

Plan and schedule harvest times and coordinate with the Nursery Manager for new planting and the Processing Center for Harvesting.

This is a high level position. All cultivation responsibility is under the Cultivation Director. The intent is to implement more structure to the cultivation operation and to run it smoothly and efficiently between nursery, flower farm, and harvest.
