Taxi and Dial A Ride Dispatcher

We are seeking motivated, positive, detail-oriented people who thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our dispatchers perform a full range of radio, computer and telephone operational duties in this 24-hour facility, receiving and prioritizing incoming calls for taxis, and paratransit vehicles.
No prior experience is necessary. We want individuals with a certain skill set and a strong work ethic.
All dispatchers are cross-trained to cover taxi dispatch and Dial-A-Ride scheduling. Dispatchers are assigned to five 8-hr. shifts each week that may include day shifts, afternoon/evening swing shifts, graveyard shifts, or some combination of these. The ideal candidates will have a good deal of around-the-clock scheduling availability throughout the week, and be willing to work afternoon, evening and/or graveyard shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.
Compensation and Benefits
The initial rate of pay is $15.50 - $18.50 per hour, depending on experience. After a waiting period, benefits include paid time off, holiday pay, health insurance, and a 401k with matching contributions.

Learn quickly and retain information
Communicate verbally in a clear, authoritative and calm manner
Provide professional, friendly customer service on the phone and with coworkers
Maintain a respectful, team-oriented attitude
Maintain good attendance and follow all policies and procedures
Good computer skills and ability to use online tools
Familiarity with local geography important
This is a safety-sensitive position under DOT/FTA. After being offered a position, the employee must pass a pre-employment drug screening and will be enrolled in a random testing program.
