Information Technology Technician
Employment Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Hours: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm
Summary of Position
The Information Technology Technician is responsible for computer sales, repairs, troubleshooting software and hardware computer issues, building new computer systems, transferring data with discretion and thoroughness and providing excellent customer service both on phone and in the front of the shop. The General Manager will be the direct supervisor for all activities within the Tech Department. In addition to the above-mentioned activities, this person may be asked to assist in other areas of the company as ability and time permits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide support for technical repairs on computer systems. This includes collaborating with the General Manager, Office Manager and other Technicians to complete goals.
2. Take responsibility for meeting the daily/weekly/monthly goals of the Tech Department as set by the General Manager.
3. Participate in hands-on computer assembly, repairs, upgrades, and diagnostics.
4. Take responsibility for meeting the agreed upon quality standards of Renaissance Computing.
5. Demonstrate care in the use and handling of all Renaissance Computing parts and supplies.
6. Take responsibility for using the utmost care with customer data.
7. Take responsibility for demonstrating and enforcing all applicable safety precautions in the Tech Department.
8. Update the General Manager and Office Manager, as necessary, regarding job status, parts status, expected delays, and other issues that would affect system assembly and repairs.
9. Maintain appropriate updates and notes in Renaissance Computing’s database. Requires coordination and clear communication.
10. Maintain confidentiality regarding proprietary or confidential information, including coworkers, customers, and individuals outside the company, except as necessary to carry out assigned duties.
11. Maintain high level of attention to workspace cleanliness. All tools and hardware must have a specific home where they are returned to at the end of each work day.
12. Employee will strictly follow the Renaissance Computing COVID-19 Exposure Prevention, Preparedness and Response Plan.
13. Ability to provide high-quality customer service to customers on the telephone and face to face.
Qualifications
1. Minimum of one-year experience with computer repair and IT work or equivalent work experience.
2. Working knowledge of Windows Servers and Networking required.
3. A demonstrated ability to operate tools and software in the Tech Department.
4. Thorough knowledge of all equipment and processes required to assemble a computer.
5. A demonstrated ability to communicate clearly on the telephone and face to face.

1. The ability to communicate effectively with people both verbally, in person and with the written word.
2. Willingness and ability to function as a member of a team and independently.
3. The ability to make effective use of time. Specifically, the aptitude to comprehend the amount of time required to complete a repair such that it meets the accepted level of quality.
4. Self-motivation and a proven ability for problem solving. Specifically, the ability to analyze problems and develop effective ways of solving them.
Physical Activities and Requirements of the Position
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, walk, bend at the waist, move objects from one location to another and safely lift objects which may weigh up to 50 pounds; use their hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Most tasks require close vision abilities.
