Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Janitor to join our team in the food industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our food production areas, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and regulations. This role is critical in creating a clean, safe, and sanitary environment that meets all industry guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize food processing equipment, floors, walls, and surfaces in production areas according to established cleaning schedules and procedures.
- Dispose of waste, trash, and recyclables following proper protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform routine inspections of cleaning equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Maintain cleanliness in common areas, such as break rooms, restrooms, and offices, ensuring they are sanitized regularly.
- Handle and store cleaning chemicals and supplies in compliance with safety standards and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and report needs for replenishment to the Facilities Manager.
- Follow all food safety protocols, including proper sanitation practices, personal hygiene standards, and contamination prevention measures.
- Identify and report any maintenance or safety hazards in the facility.
- Assist with pest control measures by ensuring cleanliness and proper waste management.
- Work collaboratively with production teams to avoid disruption during cleaning tasks.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous janitorial experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment, procedures, and best practices in the food industry.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP) and sanitation standards.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including coolers and freezers.
