We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Diesel Mechanic for our shop located in Baldwin Park, CA. (8:00am-4:30pm Monday to Friday).
Under minimal to no supervision, performing complex repairs requiring advanced mechanical knowledge and skill, including the ability to diagnose, think critically, and work systematically on a wide variety of heavy-duty trucks and equipment. This position requires the ability to work across all major systems: Engine, drivetrain, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical, hydraulic, air systems, and computer diagnosis.
We set our pay based on several factors including knowledge, experience, education, training and certifications. Salary Range $25.00 to $40.00 per hour. The company pays twice a month and employees are on W2.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks not limited to Volvo, Freightliner, Peterbilt, Kenworth, International.
Education and Skills Requirements:
-+5 years of verifiable work experience in diesel mechanics.
- Must have a personal toolset; diagnostic and manufacturer-specific tools are provided.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Clear communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
-Must be familiar with TEC Tool, Direct Link, Insite Cummins and JPro to diagnose customer semi-trucks coming to the shop with check engine light on.
Identifies and determines parts required for repairs of disassembled units.
Road test fleet when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
Performs all work within a reasonable time.
Communicates repair status with management.
Conduct safety checks on vehicles.
Performs other duties as assigned and at the discretion of the Shop Manager.
Highly proficient in troubleshooting and computer diagnosis.
Must be able to diagnose, repair, and work on most if not all facets of heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
Must possess a valid driver’s license. Commercial license is preferred but not necessary.
