We are Seniors Helping Seniors, a non medical in-home care company licensed by the state of California. We are looking for experienced and people without formal training who can provide care and assistance for a very worthy part of our population - seniors.
As our name suggests we are seeking retired, semi-retired or someone who has been through their own life lessons and can relate to how our clients feel dealing with the aging process. Examples could be: having to give up driving for safety reasons; the loss of old friends; no family in the area; feeling lonely and isolated; health concerns. As the saying goes, growing old is not for sissies.
To work in this field you genuinely have to enjoy seniors. You are interested in their stories, ask questions, actively listen and be curious. You need patience, humor, and a strong voice for many of our clients with hearing loss. Most of our seniors enjoy delicious healthy meals which mean cooking skills are in high demand.
Every person, every situation is different. Matching client and caregiver personalities is very important. We strive to have the situation feel right for both parties.
Needed to work: Live Scan background checks, TB testing and registration with the state of California as a caregiver. We will assist with the cost of most requirements.
