Nichols Veterinary Care is currently seeking an experienced highly skilled Veterinary Assistant or RVT. Candidates need to have at minimum two years’ experience in the veterinary field as a Veterinary Assistant or RVT for a FT or PT position. RVT with current license preferred. Must be detail oriented, be able to multitask, capable of utilizing multiline phones, team oriented, and enjoy working with clients and animals. Duties include surgery prep, monitoring and recovery, digital radiology and dental radiology, phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, administration of oral and injectable medications, animal handling and restraint, in-house and referral laboratory sample obtainment and processing, cleaning kennels and the hospital facility, inventory restocking, OSHA standards, basic Veterinary pharmacology, and utilizing electronic medical records.
Compensation dependent on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, veterinary service discount, uniform allowance, paid holidays, paid vacation and sick time.
Availability must be from 7am to 6:30pm M-F (8 hour shifts between those hours would be scheduled), rotating Saturdays (8:30-5:30) and rotated kennel shifts Sundays.
