Seeking full-time Network Engineer/Installer for a local wireless internet provider.
General Responsibilities
The Network Engineer candidate will be responsible for network platform integration, interconnection strategy, and maintenance of telecommunication infrastructure. The candidate will implement highly available and secure topologies in partnership with a back-office support group. Also, the candidate will install infrastructure to provide customers with connectivity utilizing the latest wireline and Wi-Fi network technologies.
Specific Responsibilities
Maintain firewall systems and access control lists to protect the integrity and security of the network.
Test, implement, and maintain network solutions utilizing telecommunication standards and protocols.
Test, implement, and maintain highly available connectivity solutions for customers.
Participate in network system planning and testing.
Evaluate customer product and network requirements to generate test and deployment plans.
Provide customer support and assist customers with troubleshooting network issues when necessary. This often involves travel to customer locations to verify proper operation of equipment and analyze operational environments for proper spectrum utilization.
Installation of wiring and equipment to provide internet service to residences and businesses.
Qualifications
A minimum of five years of experience in the analysis, integration, planning, implementation, and support of network circuits and WAN/LAN infrastructure.
Engineering, computer science, technical degree (BS/MS), or equivalent training and experience are desirable.
Configuration and support experience with routing and switching platforms.
Experience with ISP support systems such as DNS, AAA, SNMP, and Logging.
Comfort with working with heights in a harness and on ladders.
Proficiency with VPN, firewall, and authentication technologies.
Experience supporting network equipment within a distributed environment.
Experience in network communications protocols and routing technologies including TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, VxLAN, PPPoE.
Familiarity with Linux, UNIX, Containers, Virtualization, scripting (Shell, Perl, and JavaScript), and
general system administration.
