Position Overview:
Chef George's Picasso is seeking a dedicated and skilled line cook to join our kitchen team. As a line cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes according to the menu, ensuring consistency, and contributing to the overall dining experience for our guests. Our restaurant specializes in Hungarian cuisine, so experience or willingness to learn about Eastern European dishes is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook, and plate dishes according to the menu, including appetizers, entrees, and soups.
Assist with prepping ingredients for the daily menu and specials, adhering to recipes and portion sizes.
Maintain a clean and organized work station, following health and safety guidelines.
Collaborate with the head chef and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy hours.
Monitor food stock and communicate needs to the kitchen manager or chef.
Ensure proper storage of all food items and manage inventory to reduce waste.
Follow Chef George’s specific preparation methods for traditional Italian & Hungarian dishes.
Handle kitchen equipment and tools with care to ensure a safe working environment.
Participate in cleaning duties, including dishwashing and sanitizing food prep areas as needed.
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a line cook or similar role in a restaurant setting.
Knowledge or interest in Italian, Hungarian or European cuisine is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high food quality standards.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
Familiarity with kitchen equipment and sanitation regulations.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods and handle the physical demands of kitchen work.
Capability to lift 25 pounds or more.
