Medical Billing & Reimbursement Specialist
In order to keep up with growing demand NorCal Respiratory is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual to perform the responsibilities of Billing and Reimbursement Specialist. This is a full-time position with competitive salary, generous benefits, paid vacation, 401K and profit sharing plans.
Primary job responsibilities:
Ensure reimbursement documentation is thorough and accurate, including services performed, patient demographics, insurance details and supporting documentation.
Conduct insurance pre-authorizations.
Submit claims to insurance companies and patients for reimbursement.
Post payments and other reimbursement related updates.
Reconcile insurance payments to patient accounts.
Work with insurance companies to resolve issues such as claim denials.
Act as a resource for Company staff and patients regarding reimbursement criteria, requirements and issues.
Attributes of the successful candidate are:
Working knowledge of Medicare, private insurance, third party billing and patient billing preferred.
Strong computer skills.
Superior organizational skills.
Ability to think and act independently in order to effectively manage multiple priorities and responsibilities.
Enthusiastic about learning.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to deal pleasantly, patiently and effectively with others, including geriatric patients.
Detail oriented.
High school graduate or G.E.D
