As a Driver for Artisan Bakers, the candidate will be responsible for safely transporting products in a timely manner while adhering to local and state traffic laws. This individual must be passionate, committed, and dedicated to the quality of our product, and the enrichment of our customer relationships through friendly and effective communication. This position requires an above average attention to detail, basic math acumen, and the ability to think and act quickly. This candidate will work closely with the warehouse manager and report directly to the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager
Job Responsibilities/Main Functions/Main Tasks:
- Report to work on time, in proper attire, and prepared to perform duties and responsibilities.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Verify product is packed and ready for delivery
- Verify invoices are in proper order and reflect customer requirements for that day.
- Complete the assigned vehicle safety check prior to departing.
- Deliver products to customers either as a blind drop or within established receiving requirements, including time and location.
- Collect information on product credits, calculate the credit amount for each customer, and have invoices signed by customer.
- Adjust invoice for any shortages or refused product ensuring proper calculations of adjusted invoice.
- Maintain control of Artisan’s invoice copies and return them to a specified location within the bakery.
- Adheres to all traffic, state, and local laws as well as Artisan’s policies.
- Ensures vehicle is unloaded, cleaned, and refueled for the next day upon completion of route.
- Adhere to all GMP polices set forth by Artisan Bakers
- Arrange product in a safe manner using electric pallet jacks
- Provide feedback on all packaging issues that are observed
- Serve as point of contact for delivery issues
- Maintains cleanliness of delivery van.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must possess a positive attitude, are honest, neat and clean in appearance, take pride in their work, and work well with others.
- Must be responsible and willing to learn.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with customers.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license with no major vehicle code violations or high DMV point count.
- Must be competent in basic math skills.
- Must possess the ability to operate an electronic calculator.
- Must possess the ability to fluently read and write the English language.
- Must possess the ability to drive delivery vans of various sizes.
- Must physically be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Must possess the ability to follow simple delivery instructions, read and comprehend basic maps.
- Must be able to safely handle an electric pallet jack
