Technical Writer IV Location: San Bruno, CA Duration: 6 Months Description: Our team is responsible for launching features related to the core experience of watching videos on our website and mobile apps. Projects related to this core experience have high revenue impact and require complicated cross-team launches. The technical writer will become familiar with the system that supports this experience and write high-level overviews that explain how it works. The writer will also learn about various types of tasks that developers need to accomplish. The writer will then plan and write documents that explain how developers can complete those tasks. Skill/Experience/EducationMandatory 6+ years of technical writing experience focusing on software developer audiences. BA/BS degree Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to grasp complex technical concepts and systems and explain them to a software developer audience Experience working closely with engineers Experience with version control software Familiarity with protocol buffers Ability to use markup/markdown language Ability to learn new tools Desired Familiarity with C, Objective-C, and Java Experience working in a UNIX or LINUX environment and using a command line
