As a News Producer, you will play a crucial role in shaping our daily news coverage and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, engaging content to our viewers.Job Responsibilities:Responsible for overall production and content of newscasts on any platformWrite news scripts, promos, teases, headlines and topicals and edit with non-linear softwareAssign stories to newscast story producers, specifying the angle, video location, etc.Conceptualize set graphics and blocking with APC operators and anchorsExecute live shots and communicate with anchors during live newscastsRespond to breaking news with accuracy and urgencyStay well-informed of daily news events and knowledgeable of the San Diego news marketContribute story ideas, participate in daily coverage decisions and editorial meetingsUnderstand NBC 7’s and Telemundo 20’s newscast mission and station prioritiesResearch and gather information on assigned storiesWrite text articles, create and publish video clips and still photos for our websiteExecute all publishing workflows for video, images and text including publishing to social media platformsManage video livestreamsPerform other related duties as assigned
