job detailsjob summary:Our client, a leading manufacturer in San Jose, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to add to the team. You will ensure optimal operation and safety of plant equipment through inspections, repairs, troubleshooting, and adherence to safety protocols.1st shift (needs to be flexible to cover if an issue arises in another shift): 7am - 3:30pmRequired:
High school diploma or GED; additional technical training or associate degree in industrial maintenance, engineering, or related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years' experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing, assembly, or fabrication environment
Skilled in routine mechanical and maintenance tasks with regular use of hand and power tools
Knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques, tools, equipment, and safety practices for industrial machinery
Welding knowledge and forklift certification required
Willingness to work overtime and maintain excellent attendance record

Review the operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, solve problems proactively, and identify improvement opportunities.
Conduct specialized safety audits around facility equipment to ensure a safe work environment.
Perform machinery inspections, start machines, and observe mechanical operation to assess efficiency and detect issues; report issues immediately to supervisor/manager.
Diagnose, repair, and replace various mechanical equipment, systems, and machinery, such as motors and valves; assess wear and condition, providing repair and replacement recommendations.
Dismantle machines for lubrication and/or repair, using appropriate tools such as jacks, cranes, and hoists, and reassemble upon completion.
Monitor temperature readings and inspect drive motors, generators, boilers, gearboxes, brakes, conveyors, and related equipment.
Regularly check lubrication levels, water levels, and other maintenance needs, documenting all work completed or issues identified according to procedures.
Perform maintenance duties as required, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting/diagnostics, filter changes, and lubrication.
Interpret and work from complex blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate and efficient maintenance.
