We've partnered with an esteemed organization to find an experienced Staff Accountant for their team. Your responsibilities as Staff Accountant will include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Additionally, you'll be participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
Major responsibilities
- Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
- Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
- Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
- Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
- Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
- Participate in various department-wide initiatives
- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
- Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
- Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Candidate Requirements
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Efficient in ERP systems
- 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
- Competent with spreadsheets and databases with advanced excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
- Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
- Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
- Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger
- Proven knowledge of financial statement preparation
- Strong familiarity with bank reconciliations
