VNA Health is seeking a talented and dedicated Cleaning Technicians to join our team. Our Cleaning Technician is responsible for maintaining the interior of the facility in a safe, clean, orderly, and attractive manner, free from offensive odors. Job Duties:
- Assure the assigned work areas are maintained in a safe, clean, comfortable and attractive manner
- Keep assigned work area free of hazardous objects (protruding mop/broom handles, supplies)
- Assure that established infection control and universal precaution practices are maintained when performing housekeeping or laundry procedures
- Report all hazardous conditions, equipment to your supervisor
- Assure housekeeping and laundry supplies and equipment are clean and properly stored
- Use protective clothing/devices when performing tasks that involve the handling of infectious waste, and/or blood, body fluids
- Sort and wash soiled laundry in accordance to established procedures, in a manner which prevents the spread of infection
- Clean linen is sorted and handled in a way to prevent cross-contamination
- Honor the patient’s personal space and property
- Maintain necessary records and reports in a timely manner
- Assists kitchen staff with washing dishes, cleaning carts and cleaning floors
Position Qualifications:
- One year of housekeeping experience in hospital environment, healthcare or related area, preferred
- High school diploma (or equivalent) is required
- Utilizes proper ergonomics and body mechanic techniques
- Displays initiative and able to work with minimal direct supervision
- Has empathy for the needs of the terminally ill, frail and impaired
Physical Qualifications:
- Ability to lift, push or pull 50 lbs
- Ability to stoop, bend and squat
- Ability to walk up one flight of stairs
- Ability to walk one mile
- Ability to sit for one hour, minimum
- Visual acuity
- Audio acuity
