Excel Personnel Services is currently recruiting for an Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Technician in the Goleta area. This position is full time and temp to hire with a 9/80 work week schedule. The hours are from 7 am to 5 pm, Monday through Thursday with an 8 hour shift on Friday (you will have every other Friday off). The pay rate for this position is $16-18/hr (DOE). Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Align, fit, and assemble component parts using hand tools, power tools, and fixtures
Install electrical and electronic parts and hardware in housing or assembly, using soldering equipment and hand tools
Test performance of assemblies, using test stands and equipment
Repair and rework assemblies to meet operational specifications and tolerances
Analyze and record test results and prepare documentation
Read drawings, schematics, diagrams, and technical specifications to determine method and sequence of assembly
Prepare and maintain test procedures and assembly history records
Coordinate and recommend procedures for facility and equipment maintenance or modification
Determine data required and set up required data acquisition, test and measurement equipment
Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and operate test setup and equipment
Discuss test data and requirements and results with other personnel, determine data required, and calculate and modify test parameters and equipment
Record and interpret test data on parts and assemblies, and confer with engineering personnel regarding test procedure and results
Fabricate and install parts and systems to be tested in test equipment using instruments
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
Solder certification required
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio
1 year certificate from college or technical school or 3 to 6 years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have knowledge of:
o Hydraulics
o Gear pumps and gerotor pumps
o Basic mathematics
o LEAN manufacturing principles
o Soldering standards
o Measuring equipment
o Electro-mechanical test and assembly procedures and techniques
Ability to read bluepirnts
Ability to measure accurately
Ability to see close objects well
Ability to properly communicate through both oral and written communication
Ability to work independently, with little to no instruction, as well as on a team
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, etc¦
Experience using office equipment (Phones, copiers, scanners, facsimile machine, calculator, and others as required)
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Requires the ability to access all areas of the facility
Regularly required to stand, walk, sit and use office equipment
Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds in course of normal duties
Ability to see details at close range (near vision). Annual eye exam required
Overtime and time pressure are common during peak periods. Job involves use of and exposure to various hydraulic oils.
