Maker Labs offers fun after school classes with hands-on learning and STEAM activities that allow kids to discover and experiment.
Program Instructors are a temporary position that facilitates our 60 min after-school classes. A perfect Maker Labs Instructor has creativity and excitement to explore hands-on projects with the kids. They provide guidance and structure, but don’t necessarily give all the answers.
Classes range from 10-20 kids, elementary age. 1 hr classes (2 hrs of work)
Instructor Responsibilities
-Providing kids with enough guidance to explore each project
-Maintaining a safe space for kids to express their creativity
-Making sure students uphold their responsibilities in the classroom
-Setting up and cleaning up class
-Taking photos during class when possible
-Offering feedback to supervisor
Hours and Schedule
Program instructors will make around $70 per class for about 2 hours of work including prep time, class time, and clean-up. There are several openings, Mondays at 3:00-4:00 (start Sept 9th), Fridays at 2:50-3:50 (start Sept 6), Mondays and Thursdays at 2:45-3:45. These are 8-12 week classes.
Classes are in the Walnut Creek area, we also have opportunities in Pleasant Hill and Antioch.
Classes will start in August and September
