This position is for working in a household of a local spiritual leader who's wife has mid-stage Alzheimers. We are looking to add a person to our team who has morning and/or evening availability to work 16-28 hours per week (we will soon know more specifically if it will be on the higher end or lower end of hours, and which days of the week). The shifts would be 8am-12pm, and 4pm-8pm.
The job would be a combination of caregiving and companionship for Marie, and some light household duties including buying groceries, some meal prep and serving meals, running errands, appointments, etc. Marie is still pretty self sufficient and does personal care activities on her own, such as bathing, toileting, teeth brushing, eating, etc. However she does need to be reminded to do these things, and will need help getting the water going in the shower, things like that.
Marie is a very sweet, creative, and delightful person who can be a bit stubborn at times but is not violent or angry. She enjoys creative activities such as quilting (she is an expert quilter), gardening and flower arranging, drawing, and doing puzzles.
The ideal candidate would have a genuine desire to care for and connect with others and have the capacity to attune to other's needs. They would have a lot of patience, compassion, and a nurturing warm hearted touch. They would be receptive, sensitive, reliable, and not afraid to share ideas that could improve Marie's care and the smooth operation of the household.
Some preferred qualifications and background would be in caregiving, or having cared for a family member, cooking and the ability to follow a recipe, household support in general such as light laundry and tidying.
Ideal but not required qualifications: background in memory care, nursing assistant, spiritual sensitivities.
Having your own reliable transportation will be essential for the position.
Compensation will depend on experience and will range from $27-37 per hour.
