Our firm is growing & we are seeking a full-time legal assistant to join our team. The job requires flexibility, initiative, common sense, and good humor.

The legal assistants job duties include:
File and serve pleadings in state and federal courts
Prepare case-related documents - letters, briefs, proofs of service, discovery documents
Maintain case files in our cloud-based system
Set appointments, answer phones, make travel arrangements
Phone intakes of potential clients who contact the firm regarding legal representation
Be in the office Monday through Friday during normal business hours
Receive packages, handle mail, greet guests
Prepare expense reimbursement reports
Maintain office and kitchen supplies
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
High proficiency in Microsoft Word (including tables of contents and tables of authorities), Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro
Strong internet research and proof-reading skills
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
Experience with electronic court filing, service, and research platforms, including ECF, Pacer, and Westlaw
Solid understanding of legal calendar deadlines, court rules and procedures, filing processes, and legal documents.
Prior experience working in a law firm
Availability to work overtime when needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree
Spanish speaking
