I’m looking for a hardworking, detail oriented, flexible and reliable individual to assist with making custom orders and packaging them for 2-3 days per week (8 to 24 hours/week). This person loves working with their hands, following instructions and being organized. The studio is 10 minutes away from Ashby bart station in Oakland.
Responsibilities Include:
- Work with your hands to make customer products. This requires fine motor control and attention for detail.
- Work with cutting tools, printer, laser engraver etc.
- Have basic knowledge of computer
- You must be able to find and fix mistakes (Quality Control)
- Package and fulfill orders
- Deliver orders to post office (10 minute walk)
- Communicate & work with other team members. Love asking questions and being a problem solver (You need to have strong English language skills)
- Must be reliable.We need to have shipments go out on time
- Ability to stand for the majority of studio time
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs
- Ability to commute to Oakland, CA, 2-3 days per week (Preferably live in east bay - Oakland, Berkeley, Richmond, Alameda)
Preferred Qualifications Include:
- Jewelry making, scrapbooking, sewing, graphic design experience are preferred, but not required
- Love working fast but can pay attention to detail
- Comfortable using technology
Hours and compensation
- Base compensation is $18/hour, paid biweekly. You will receive a W2 form.
- I’m looking for someone who is comfortable with the flexibility of working 2-3 days (8-24 hours) a week for the next 6 months. After November 1st, the days might reduce depending on seasonal demands.
- We work Mon to Fri, regular work hours. Days can be flexible based on your availability
- Start date- immediate or the latest mid May
