Job Title: Founding Full Stack Engineer
Location: S.F Bay Area / Rocklin, CA / Sacramento or Surrounding Areas.
About Us:
We are a startup currently in stealth mode located in Rocklin, CA. We are finishing up the development of our new platform and hope to launch by the end of the month. We're building innovative solutions across iOS, Android, and web platforms. Our current focus is on scaling our product and optimizing our technology to deliver exceptional user experiences. We're looking for a passionate and experienced engineer to join as a founding member, helping shape the technical direction and long-term vision of the company on the engineering side. This role will be heavy on the technical side but will also have a huge say on the product side.
What You'll Do:
Lead the development and management of our iOS (Swift), Android (Java), and web applications (Laravel, PHP, HTML).
Oversee the AWS cloud infrastructure and MySQL database, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
Leverage AI-powered tools such as Code tools: v0, Claude AI, and You + Cursor to accelerate app development and improve team productivity.
Architect, develop, and maintain our technology stack while introducing best practices for CI/CD, testing, and monitoring.
Collaborate closely with the founder to define product roadmap, features, and system architecture.
Develop best engineering practices and a strong foundation on the engineering side.
Handle technical troubleshooting (bugs, issues) and performance optimization across the platform.
Develop new features and enhancements.
What We're Looking For (BUT NOT REQUIRED:
5+ years of experience in full-stack development with expertise in at least one mobile platform (iOS or Android) and web development.
Proficiency in Laravel (PHP), Swift (iOS), and Java (Android).
Strong experience with AWS for cloud deployment and infrastructure management.
Experience with MySQL and database optimization.
Familiarity with AI-powered development tools (v0, Claude AI, You + Cursor Replit ) type of tools to enhance, speed up code productivity and streamline workflows.
Ability to design and implement CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks.
Knowledge of security best practices (both for application and cloud infrastructure).
Down-to-earth, humble attitude – we're looking for someone who is respectful to everyone and collaborates well with the team, leaves the ego at the door, and is genuinely passionate about building great products.
Startup mindset: adaptable, self-driven, and willing to wear multiple hats.
Local Candidate (a must): Someone who lives in the vicinity of Rocklin, CA (Sacramento area including the whole S.F Bay Area would be great) so we can meet in person and collaborate on some occasions which will be critical in the early stages of the business.
Compensation:
This role is currently equity-based. Equity will depend on your experience and what you bring to the table but it will be generous.
Salary will commence post-launch once we're generating revenue and able to cover salaries.
We understand this requires a long-term vision, so ideally, you should have a way to support yourself financially during this ramp-up period.
The best part is that this platform we don’t have to sell, we just have to provide an excellent product and customer experience and it will self-grow – growth is organic. I anticipate a few months to be able to cover our salaries.
Nice to Have:
Experience in DevOps, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and microservices architecture.
Knowledge of additional frameworks/languages like React, Node.js, or Kotlin.
Experience with payment gateways, API integrations, and third-party services.
