Our quickly growing client in San Luis Obispo is looking for a multiple experienced Shipping Clerks to join the production team within their warehouse. This is a steady long-term position temporary position, with a possibility of being converted to a full-time employee!
Title: Shipping Clerk
Working hours: 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Rate: $15/hr (starting)
Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
-Receive and qualify delivered materials , check for shipping damage and proper paperwork
-Access and following department procedures and work instructions
-Organize shipping sales, purchase orders, and miscellaneous shipments, and closing production work orders to stock.
-Assist with boxing, crating .
-Use general carpentry tools.
Skills (Qualified candidates must have the ability to do the following):
-Prioritize parts and documents according to urgency
-Communicate with individuals and work groups that their product or documents are available
-Troubleshoot problem purchase orders/Monitor grief shelf items
-Package, crate, process and monitor outgoing shipments
-Investigate and use most economical and efficient mode of transportation
-Maintain shipping log and compliance for all dangerous goods shipments
-Coordinate with Logistics for Forwarders, Trucking and shipping paperwork
-Coordinate with Accounting for Invoicing
-Use various software programs for shipping with different carriers
-Use company computer programs to transact receiving and shipping transactions
- Maintain accuracy of receiving and shipping transactions
- Maintain Finished Goods Inventory
-Support miscellaneous activities to support Manufacturing and entire Operations group
- Will need to use forklift and be able to get forklift certified
- Detail oriented
- Have working knowledge of basic computer functions and working with Microsoft Office, email, internet. Knowledge of SAP a plus.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
-Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Minimum Requirements:
- must be able to use forklift
- good general knowledge of hand tools, wrenches, drill motors, metal saws, etc.
- Maintain high level of professionalism.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs (if needed).
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
