Location: Martis Camp Club, Truckee, California

Martis Camp Club is Lake Tahoe’s Premier Private Community and a Platinum Club of America. We are looking for skilled line cooks to join our team. Martis Camp is searching for excellent candidates to fill a variety of different line cook positions available across our multiple culinary outlets on property.

AM Camp Lodge- pantry/prep

PM Camp Lodge- all kitchen stations

AM Banquet

PM Banquet

AM Food Truck- (daily catering Lake Tahoe)

PM Food Truck - (daily catering Lake Tahoe)

AM Family Barn- prep/garde manger

PM Family Barn- grill/sauté


Meals (one per shift during season) and snacks

Job Description

The line cook is an essential member of the Food & Beverage team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests. The line cook provides an enjoyable expertly cooked dining experience conforming to Martis Camp standards of excellence for quality, professionalism, and friendliness.

Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner food items per guest order in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.

Prepare food items according to guest orders of consistent quality following recipe cards, as well as production, portion, and presentation standards; complete mis en place and set-up station for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner service. Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not prepare beyond estimated needs. Operate, maintain, and properly clean kitchen equipment.

Date all food containers and rotate as per policies, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures; check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up; note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages; return all food items not used to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables; assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems; control food waste, loss and usage per policies.

Minimum two years culinary or related work experience. Must have some form of culinary school or professional food preparation background. Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-job.

Must have basic understanding of health codes and knife work. Able to learn and to work a singular station cleanly and efficiently within eight weeks. Willing and able to absorb teaching/coaching in order to better themselves as a cook.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.


High school education or equivalent (Culinary School graduate preferred)

Minimum of 2 years culinary or related work experience

Advanced knowledge and the ability to operate independently on the line is required for this position

The ability to operate, maintain, and properly clean kitchen equipment

The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Advanced knife skills

The ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours per shift

State of California approved current Food Handlers Card

Pre-employment drug screen (marijuana results excluded for 21 and over)
