Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently looking for an EE Systems Design Engineer joining their team at Vandenberg Air Force Base in Lompoc, CA. This position will focus on supporting the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program, primarily the production and test team of the Ground-based Interceptor.A successful candidate will analyze and document electronic and electrical system requirements that defines the GMD Interceptor and its respective test hardware to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements. Documentation will be released using 3-D and 2D Computer Aided Design tools to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements. Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.Position Responsibilities:Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and systems. Coordinates with the suppliers to optimize the design and achieve program goals.

Knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various Engineering departments/disciplines (e.g., design, test, software, technology, avionics) and suppliers.

Exercises critical thinking and innovative problem solving.

Provide products and services that meet the highest technical and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and processes and embrace first-time quality as a way of life – not accepting, creating or passing any defects and speaking up.

Identifying and correcting conditions and behaviors that affect safety; upholding safety standards.

The position requires an active U.S. secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Active U.S. Security Clearance secret or top secret

Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry

5+ years of engineering experience developing aerospace support products, support equipment, spares engineering, or retrofit solutions

3+ years of experience do you have using a CAD tool to generate wiring and cabling schematics

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Conversant in Microsoft Office.

Good communication skills.

Knowledge of design concepts and techniques in the assembly and integration of missile systems.

Experienced in developing cable interconnect engineering drawings from start to release.
