Job Title: Architectural Drafter (AutoCAD Specialist - Residential & Commercial)

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Architectural Drafter with a strong proficiency in AutoCAD to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in both the residential and commercial sectors, creating precise and detailed technical drawings. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams to translate design concepts into functional, buildable blueprints.
Key Responsibilities:
High proficiency in the AUTOCAD software with careful attention to layer standards and the organization of xrefs, sheets, blocks, etc. Clean drafting practices are a must. Precision in measurements and connecting lines & drawing components are critical job requirement.
Develop detailed architectural drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD, adhering to project specifications and local building codes.
Draft floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed designs for both residential and commercial projects.
Coordinate with architects and engineers to ensure design intent and technical accuracy are reflected in the drawings.
Modify and update drawings based on project revisions and feedback from clients or project managers.
Collaborate with team members to produce high-quality and compliant design deliverables within project deadlines.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards.
Assist in preparing as-built drawings for completed projects.
Manage and organize project files, ensuring version control and consistency across all documents.
Qualifications:
Education: Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Drafting, or a related field. OR:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as an architectural drafter, with a strong focus on residential and commercial projects.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
Familiarity with additional drafting software (e.g., ARCHICAD SketchUp) is a plus.
Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and standards.
Strong understanding of building codes and zoning regulations.
Soft Skills:
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Asking for work proactively upon task completion to avoid sitting idle is a job requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with construction documents for both residential and commercial developments.
Knowledge of 3D rendering and visualization software is an advantage.
Familiarity with local building codes and permitting processes.
