Denham Resources has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cost Accountant to join the team of our client, a highly successful, well-established world class agri-business located in Kings County.
-Applies principles of cost accounting and statistics to devise, implement and administer systems that provide management with detailed cost data not ordinarily supplied by general accounting systems
-Analyzes and reviews operations and collects data to determine costs of business activity and records results
-Reviews standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
-Maintains cost accounting system and cost ledger
-Records yields into the system and allocates monthly overhead i.e. water, chemicals and labor costs
-Reconciles crop statements and performs month-end cost accounting close
-Complies with GAAP for financial statements
-Handles large amounts of data involving reconciliation, cost analysis and month-end close with strong technology expertise and skills
Requirements:
-Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and 5 plus years' relevant in Accounting/Finance
-Must have proven work experience with cost analysis/systems in an agricultural, food processing or manufacturing industry
-Tech savvy and strong knowledge of IT systems and software; advanced level proficiency with MS Excel
-Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
-Strong time management and organizational skills
