Hello! My adult son is on the autism spectrum and he is 28 years old. He can dress, walk, feed, toilet and bathe himself mostly on his own. But he has the attention span of a five-year-old and can often wander off or not finish these tasks well.
I am almost finished with my teaching credential and have started substitute teaching. Beginning in January 2025, I will start working on my clinical requirements as a student teacher And I will need to leave the house by 7:15am. So I am looking for someone to be here in the morning for about an hour and a half before his Day Program picks him up at 8:45am.
I will also need you to come back in the afternoon by 2:00 p.m. to receive him when they drop him off and stay with him until I get home around 4:00 p.m. So this would be a very part-time position no more than about 4 hours per day 5 days per week.
Our funding comes from IHSS. If you are comfortable with the situation and my son is comfortable with you, then I will be happy to pay for all of the fingerprint fees and help you get signed up to be a provider. The county does not reimburse mileage, but I am willing to discuss an additional stipend paid out of my pocket to help you mitigate fuel expenses.
