We are an aerospace engineering company located in Boulder, CO. We are looking for an intern to help us build/test ruggedized flight computers. Hours and scheduling are extremely flexible as we are looking to continue the position through the school year and understand school takes the highest priority. Full-time or part-time or a combination of both that fluctuates between the summer/school year. This is a PAID intern position.
On the electrical side, tasks may include working with the electrical engineers to read schematics in order to debug problematic PCBs, resoldering and replacing components on them, and test functionality.
On the mechanical side, we also assemble PCBs into working flight computers and test the hardware for any issues. This process includes kitting parts, fastening screws and mounting PCBs into the cases, running through testing checklists, and debugging issues seen throughout the build.
Relevant skills include the use of hand tools, use of power tools, soldering, possible CAD experience (Solidworks), 3D printing, laser engraving, and electrical testing.
