Position/Job Title: Space Test Range Control (Senior) (L3)

Job Summary:
The Space Range Control Senior (Senior) supports the safe, secure, and effective conduct of on-orbit test and training activities. The Senior possesses astrodynamics expertise, space mission planning expertise, an advanced knowledge of sensor phenomenology and capabilities, an understanding of space security policy and implications to on-orbit operations and an understanding of current space coordination and deconfliction processes such as the US Laser Clearinghouse. The Senior typically work on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and perform all functional duties independently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned) and must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance:
Draft and recommend space test range policy, procedures, and concepts to support effective space test range operations
Provide independent assessments of safety, mission protection/security implications of planned on-orbit range activities
Conduct advanced on-orbit mission planning and deconfliction of on-orbit range operations
Coordinate and schedule range support to test and training missions
Employ and on-board range visualization, planning, and scheduling tools
Support real-time safety & security monitoring of space range activities
Initiate, supervise, and/or develop requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs
Provide strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to test range program and staff
Provide detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues
Oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job

Education and/or Experience/Skills Required: (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned) and must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance:
Master of Arts/Master of Science/Master of Engineering (MA/MS/ME) degree and a minimum of 10 years' of relevant DoD work experience
4+ years experience in a SAP and/or SCI environment with the last five (5) years
Recognized industry leader with strong analytical skills
Strong analytical skills
Excellent organizational and presentation skills
Proven ability to be innovative and creative and capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner
Ability to work autonomously and interface easily with team members and senior leadership
Aerospace/industry strategy experience
Abilities:

Physical Requirements:
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have enough mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. May include lifting weigh up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.

DoD active security clearance may be required
